Outside Class
Educational outings form an integral part of the curriculum. There are theatre trips, visits to sites of historical interest, Geography field-study trips, visits abroad and an Outdoor Pursuits week for Year 8 pupils. Visiting speakers also play an important role in enriching the learning, as does the wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities available to pupils throughtout the week, both during the day and after school.
Enrichment is used to develop and extend a child in their own particular areas of strength and to build confidence in cultivating new skills. Teachers will spot talent and challenge the children, then develop their risk-taking skills and celebrate each child's achievements. This encourages greater self-reliance and creative thinking.
