Click here to download the PE Curriculum Summaries as a PDF file. The school's aim is to fulfil every pupil's physical potential and to instil a life-long interest in sport and physical activity. This is achieved by equipping the children with the necessary knowledge, skills and fitness acquired through the comprehensive curriculum that is taught from Nash House to Upper School. The PE curriculum runs in conjunction with a full schedule of after-school practice and training- sessions which are available to all pupils. There are three full-time PE teachers, a Head of Lower School PE, and a team of PE specialists who assist with afternoon games. Competition is an important ingredient of the PE programme. There are teams in most sports, and every attempt is made to include as many pupils in school teams as possible. To this effect, two. and up to four, teams per age-group are selected, and the school tries to have an inter-school or Tribe fixture every week for each age-group. Particularly gifted youngsters are given every opportunity to have trials for, and play for, Kent teams. Outstanding facilities include our 50 acres of superbly-presented and well-kept sports fields, two gymnasiums (for Nash House and Lower School), a fully-equipped Sports Hall at Upper School, two swimming-pools (the one for junior pupils has a 'bubble' to extend the swimming season), a total of 11 hard tennis-courts (8 of which are on the full-sized all-weather area), high and long-jump areas, shot and discus circles, and an eight-lane 400m athletics track. |

The Chippeways won this year's Upper School Tribe Athletics in a closely fought competition. The Year 8s competed in the traditional Pole Race though there seemed to be no clear winner! |

| OTHER ACTIVITIES In the holidays, the school organizes riding, skiing and adventure trips. Among the activities available to children in term-time are ballet, board games, chess, computers, DT, cooking, sewing and short tennis. There are also French clubs and Maths and Geography clinics for Year 8 children. |
