News of Former Pupils
ADAM BALDWIN - Adam has left Bethany School, where he was Head Boy. He gained three A grades at A' level and is now at Southampton University reading Law. TOM de VRIES - Tom has left Bethany School, where he was particularly impressive on the sports field, captaining the 1st XI Football team. He has now gone to Leeds Metropolitan University to study Events Management. HAMISH STARTIN - Has left Bethany School and is taking a gap year before beginning a degree in Management and Sports Science at St Mary's. HARRY McILWRAITH - Has left Tonbridge School and is now reading Chemistry at Bath University. MONIQUE VEKERIA - Has left Sevenoaks School, where she gained 10 A* grades at GCSE and a very high score in her IB diploma. She is going on to University in London to read Medicine. VICTORIA IGNOTUS - Has been awarded a Sixth Form Scholarship at St Leonards Mayfield, where she is currently studying for her GCSE's. ALEXANDER GROVES - Has graduated from Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art at Oxford University. He rowed for the first crew of his college, St Edmund Hall, for three years, finishing as stroke. ANDREW FAIRLEY - Has left Tonbridge School with 4 A Grade A' levels, and will go to York University to read English. OLIVER FREEBORN - Has left Tonbridge School with 3 A Grade A' levels and may either go to Manchester University to read Politics, or to Bath to read Chemistry. CHRISTOPHER McWILLIAMS - Has left Tonbridge School with 4 A Grade A' levels and is going to Imperial College to read Physics. CATHERINE OFFORD - Is married to Robert, a web designer. She is currently working for a small firm of diamond manufacturers in Staplehurst. PHILIP OFFORD - Has qualified as an accountant and is working for a large firm in London. He is to be married next year to Sue, a Biology teacher. They are currently house hunting in Hemel Hempstead. PATRICK SPARROW - Is training to be a hair stylist with Vidal Sassoon in London. DAVID FRIDAY - Is now working as Marketing Manager at his family's firm, Oasters. His brother, ADAM FRIDAY also works there, as Technical Manager. MARCUS RAYNER - Is a runner for a film production company in London.
WILLEM COLIN - Has become something of a television star after appearing in the Channel 4 series ‘Shipwrecked'.
JENNY DUTTON - Is finishing her PGCE and will teach Chemistry at John Port School near Derby in September. In July she married James Buchanan, and they now live in Derbyshire.
KATE FEHLER (neé DUTTON) - Works as a Management Accountant for a company in Sheffield. She is still playing the violin and is a member of the Hallam Symphonia.
ELLY DUTTON - Has graduated from University College, London, with a 1st Class degree in Linguistics.
OLIVER IGNOTUS - Has left Eastbourne College and will go to Exeter University to read Sociology.
EMILY-CLAIRE RAVENSCROFT - Has graduated with a First Class Honours MA in French with Philosophy from Edinburgh, with the course including one year at the Sorbonne in Paris. She is now planning to take an internship working with global development projects in various locations.
ANNA RAVENSCROFT - Is doing a degree in Textile Design at Central St Martin's School of Art & Design, specialising in Knit Design.
MATTHEW HUGHES - Matthew has left Bristol University with a BSc in Physics. He has travelled around the world twice and lived in Sydney for a year. He now works for the Alliance & Leicester Bank as a product manager in the marketing department, at their Head Offices in Leicester. He has bought a house in Leicester and is in training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in September.
ANTHONY HUGHES - Has gone into banking after reading Mechanical Engineering at Reading University. He is the mortgage specialist at Lloyds TSB in Tunbridge Wells, where he lives. He will be married in the summer to Vicky Cole's sister, Rebecca. He enjoyed playing rugby at university and now plays for Tunbridge Wells RFC.
SIMON HUGHES - After travelling round the world, Simon got a B.Sc Hons in Biology from the University of York. He is now at Reading University completing his PhD in Gut Health, Microbiology and Glycobiology. He returns regularly to DCPS to give tennis coaching on Saturday mornings and also plays hockey for the Marden Russetts with many other former DCPS pupils.
ISOBEL WALFORD - Is in her third year at Bath University studying French and Italian. She has had a semester in Paris and a semester in Parma, Italy. She has another year at university and then hopes to maybe go into Advertising.
EDMUND VAUGHAN - Left Nottingham University in 2006 with a 2.1 in Chemical Engineering. He is now working in Maidenhead for a Building Services Management firm. He is getting married in August to Catherine Weaver from Pluckley, and they will be living in Reading.
CAMILLA DURIE - Has left Eastbourne College and will go to Queen Mary College, London to study Physiotherapy.
GENEVIEVE ROWAN - Has been appointed Head of College at Welbeck - the Defence Sixth Form College. It is the first time in 8 years a female has been elected Head and the first RAF appointment to this post.
TIM DAHLHOFF - Is working in computing for the Charity Aids Foundation.
HELENA DAHLHOFF - Graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 2004 and is now working on satellites for Astrium, a part of the European Aerospace and Defence Systems company.
PHILIPPA DAHLHOFF - Has graduated from Downing College, Cambridge and now has an internship with the consultancy company, Accenture, based in London. She hopes to do some voluntary work in Africa before taking up her permanent post next year.
FAHAD ALI - Has left Eastbourne College and will go on to Queen Mary College, London, to study Biochemistry.
PIERS HARDING - Has left Eastbourne College and will go to Newcastle University to study Business.
