Year 3

During Arts Week, Year 3 were lucky to take part in lots of fun and interesting activities. Have a look at our pictures!

John from Splatz came to visit Years 3 and 4 as part of Arts Week. In a single day, we rehearsed four scenes to creat a play based on 'Treasure Island'. When the children were not rehearsing, they were busy creating props and costumes for the performance which they gave to the rest of Little Stream and their parents at the end of the day.

Jim Bernardin from World Music Workshops showed the children a variety of drums and percussion instruments and led a workshop for each class.

Mrs Vander returned to the fold and, after giving a fascinating talk about bee-keeping, allowed the children to try honey from her own hives. They made honey sandwiches to each at break-time! For the rest of the day, the children rotated through a variety of art, research, computer and writing activities to create their own individual bee books.

Nancy Nicholson was helped by a willing band of parents throughout Arts Week as we all worked on a whole school portrait project. The finished work will be displayed in the new Little Stream Entrance Foyer.

Mrs Carter organised a variety of chromatography experiments during Year 3 Science lessons in Arts Week.
